A survivor’s workshop was conducted by Family Voice last month under the Women’s program which brought in a total of 35 participants from Unggai-Bena, Goroka, Okapa and Henganofi districts.

They were taken through sessions on HIV/AIDS, STIs, money & time management and positive discipline.

These group of women were selected from Family Voice’s survivor’s list of women who had come in for our counseling service and shared the same kind of issues that was affecting them.

Family Voice Women’s Field Officer Debbie Eun Elau said that this workshop was a success as many women learnt a lot of things which will be of help to them.

“From this workshop we have learned how to manage and budget our money, how to take care of our health and of our children and family and how to take extra care of our female daughters,” this was a remark from a group of women. A similar workshop is planned to involve male participants as well in the near future.
